LIRIEN
The Mother of the Wild
Lirien: The Mother of the Wild, God of Nature, Mother of Dragons stood aside Zoran and Maravana as one of The Three. While Zoran and Maravana demonstrated their value to the people of Anakainosis and established order, Lirien took a separate path. The Allfather and Mother of Light used their divine powers for good, there is no doubt. However, they always acted carefully to ensure that the secret of Divinity was kept secret from their people. Whether it was jealousy or fear of an uprising, neither Zoran nor Maravana ever passed on the secrets of channeling their Divine Power with their people.
Lirien, however, was different. She secluded herself to nature, away from the new society her two compatriots were building. When it came time to fight against the Great Beasts or Giants, Lirien was the fiercest warrior and the most powerful mage to ever be seen in Anakainosis. She was the one who forged Ve's heart into Causality's Bellow, and she was the one who identified magic as an essence of the world itself: something that could be harnessed. Lirien preferred the plants and beasts of the world to people; spending her time protecting forests, waters, and mountains rather than building great cities and temples. Her favorite creatures were dragons.
It was first unto dragons that Lirien instilled the gift of magic: teaching them to speak the common tongue. She gave them intelligence, healing, and magically infused their essence with the natural world. From metals, gems, and precious substance she hoped to honor her favored children. And as she wandered, she gave her gifts to as many creatures as she could.
But providing that which the others kept for themselves put Lirien in danger. For the hearts of mortals are often jealous of that which they are not given.
