CYNRAINN
The Lord of Light
Cynrainn: The Bold, the Lord of Light, The Greatest King of Men and Gods was once a mortal man. He ruled over a small Kingdom within Anakainosis during the Age of Order. Of those who gave praise to The Allfather and Mother of Light, Cynrainn was the loudest and most sincere. He lived in honor of the Gods and led his people to be the greatest of those that served under the Shining Mountain. Cynrainn grew jealous, however, of the gifts bestowed unto the creatures of the Wild. He learned that they had been instructed in the ways of magic by the Mother of the Wild and he wished to know the secrets as well. When he prayed for enlightenment, he was met with silent refusal: The Allfather and Mother of Light would not share their gifts with their people.
At this moment, Cynrainn had a choice: to betray the Gods he served or to set out in a holy Crusade. His self-idolization could not allow him to accept that another creature would be given a gift he was not deemed worthy of. Rather than revoke the vows he made to his Gods, he declared all those who use magic beyond the Divine were blasphemers and should be punished. Thus began the War of Light: a crusade against the beasts and peoples of the Wild.
Cynrainn's Army of Light grew as his crusade continued. The great captains of his Army are listed here:
Triton, The Trickster, The Lord of Fire
Sheklor, The Thunderous, The Lord of Lightning
Darius, The Wild, The Lord of the North
Fimtri, The Acid Walker, The Lord of Healing
Throradin, The Ironshield, The Lord of Shadow
Grildan, The Wise, The Lord of Knowledge
As his influence expanded with each victory, so did his power. The Lord of Light was, by some, considered as much a God as The Three. Cynrainn utilized the arcane to contest with innate magic. The culmination of the crusade was The Battle of Light: the final assault on the Temple of the Wild and Lirien herself. It is still lost to memory what caused the Battle to end, but the arcane abilities of the Army of Light momentarily were subdued in a moment. Their great floating cities crumbled to the ground. Their ranks were decimated. Their workshops destroyed. And six new stars appeared above the world in the Astral Plane.
